The State Library is commemorating its 100 years of service to the libraries and citizens of Louisiana with a special exhibit that will travel the state during 2026. These five, freestanding pop-up banners and accompanying booklets tell the story of the agency and the history of the public library system in Louisiana.
This unique exhibition highlights rare items from our Louisiana Collection. It includes information from documents and ephemera in our vertical files, news articles from our institution’s earliest scrapbooks, and photographs from our Historic Photograph Collection.
The exhibit is available to interested local library systems for display in branch locations. An updated schedule of appearances will be maintained here and additional information and resources are linked below.
Libraries may host the exhibit from two to four weeks, and can contact the State Library at exhibits@library.la.gov to discuss available dates and schedule an appearance.
