Louisiana is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty and fascinating history, and now you can explore all of that for free. All you need is your library card! Discover the beauty and history of Louisiana by checking out a state park pass and a backpack to use when exploring Louisiana.
The Check Out Louisiana State Parks access program is now available to cardholders at all 68 Louisiana public library systems! Simply present your library card at your local branch and ask to check out a free parks pass! The pass allows one person or one vehicle a one-day access to any of Louisiana's 21 parks across Louisiana, as well as 14 state historic sites.

Decide which Louisiana state park or historic site to visit.
Check out: With your library card check out a state park pass and backpack.
Visit for free: Present the pass to the park ranger. The park will retain the pass upon entrance.
Admission rules:
Passes allow one-time entry and cannot be reused.
A patron or family may only check out a pass out once every six months.
No holds are allowed on passes, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
